Multi-Actor Community

DISARM is part of the Horizon Project Group ArMoR – fighting Antimicrobial Resistance in Livestock Farming. This project group is formed based on common features in these projects’ activities and results in this research field. The projects in this group aim to develop a conceptual framework to improve understanding of AMR in livestock systems.

Having this collaboration, it is ensured that we will continue to work on the issue of antimicrobial resistance in animal farming collectively. For more innovative developments, visit the websites of project ROADMAP, Healthy Livestock, AVANT and AMRILS.

H2020 Project ROADMAP has taken over our DISARM Community of Practice under the new name Animal Health & Antibiotics Network. This Community of Practice on Facebook is a web-based community that brings together farmers, veterinarians, industry, farm advisors, and researchers to combine their respective expertise. The group discuss how to reduce the need for antibiotics in livestock farming by focusing on disease prevention and prudent use of antibiotics, ultimately reducing antibiotic resistance. Members of this community share best practices, and the challenges, benefits and drawbacks of implementing different measures. A range of topics will be covered, for example, discussing best sanitation procedures and improved feed rationing for healthier animals.

Together we will develop information resources demonstrating innovative strategies to support farmers in addressing the challenges faced in reducing antibiotic resistance on farms.
